Mission: Goodbye Obesity

The state of “being overweight” has quickly transformed into” being obese”, and obesity has become an epidemic in the United States. One-third of  children in the United States are overweight. Many children continue to gain weight as they age, becoming obese. Prevention efforts need to be taken as early as possible, even as early as childhood. Habits are formed early in life ,therefore, the promotion of healthy eating and exercise habits should be formed as early as possible. Eating in moderation, with balance, and variety, are key to a healthy diet. Exercise is beneficial for the entire body, including the mind. If children are informed early in life about healthy eating behaviors and proper exercise  recommendations, they are given the opportunity to lead a healthy life.
